Discover Cambodian Street Food

If you're craving authentic flavors from Southeast Asia, Cambodian Street Food offers an unforgettable experience right in the heart of Oakland, CA. Located at 2045 Foothill Blvd, this charming diner brings the vibrant, rich culinary traditions of Cambodia to your table with a menu that bursts with flavor and authenticity.

The restaurant’s vibe is a perfect blend of casual and cozy, with a welcoming atmosphere that instantly makes you feel at home. The moment you step inside, the scent of aromatic spices, fresh herbs, and grilling meats fills the air. It's the kind of place where locals and newcomers alike can savor traditional Cambodian dishes in an approachable setting. Whether you're a fan of street food or looking to explore new flavors, Cambodian Street Food provides a unique dining experience.

One of the restaurant's standout features is its emphasis on street food-something that’s deeply embedded in Cambodian culture. Street food in Cambodia is all about fresh, bold, and accessible dishes that are meant to be shared and enjoyed in a relaxed, social setting. Here, you'll find a wide array of traditional items that reflect the dynamic food culture of Phnom Penh and beyond. From grilled skewers to hearty noodle soups, each dish offers a taste of Cambodia's diverse culinary landscape.

Take, for example, their famous Nom Banh Chok-a Cambodian breakfast dish that's beloved by locals. It's a delicate bowl of rice noodles topped with a rich, aromatic fish gravy, fresh vegetables, and a sprinkling of herbs. The flavors balance perfectly-light yet complex, spicy but with a touch of sweetness, and perfectly refreshing. It's the kind of dish that leaves you wanting more after every bite, a true testament to the depth of Cambodian street food flavors.

Another must-try is their Bai Sach Chrouk, a dish that’s frequently found on the streets of Cambodia. This dish consists of thinly sliced pork that’s been marinated in garlic, coconut milk, and a mix of spices, grilled to perfection, and served over a bed of fragrant rice. It's simple yet flavorful, with just the right amount of savory richness that pairs wonderfully with a tangy pickled vegetable side.

One of the great things about Cambodian Street Food is the ability to dive into a variety of flavors in one meal. The Amok-a creamy, coconut-based curry typically made with fish-comes highly recommended. The richness of the curry and the tender fish combine in a mouthwatering harmony that’s hard to forget. And don’t overlook the restaurant's assortment of grilled skewers, which are perfect for sharing with friends or family. These skewers are marinated in a blend of herbs and spices, then grilled to order, giving you that perfect smoky flavor that makes street food so special.

The experience at Cambodian Street Food is not just about the food, though. The service is warm and friendly, making the entire dining experience even more enjoyable. Staff members are knowledgeable about the menu, happy to share recommendations, and eager to make sure you’re comfortable and satisfied. It's clear that this diner is committed to not only serving delicious food but also ensuring each guest has a memorable dining experience.

Whether you’re familiar with Cambodian cuisine or just starting to explore it, Cambodian Street Food makes it easy to dive into the rich flavors and cultural history of the country. The menu is packed with options that cater to a variety of tastes and dietary preferences, from vegetarian to meat lovers. Every dish tells a story, drawing from generations of culinary tradition passed down through Cambodian families.

Plus, the prices are incredibly reasonable for the quality and quantity of food you get. You can easily fill up on a satisfying meal without breaking the bank, making it a great spot for casual dining or a fun outing with friends. Many locals rave about the authenticity of the flavors, and it’s no surprise that Cambodian Street Food has quickly become a go-to spot for those craving a true taste of Cambodia.

  • I ordered the beef sticks, chicken cha-kreung, beef salawmachu, and mama wings. Everything was delicious. The chicken cha-kreung is a flavorful ground chicken dish with hints of lemon, and the beef salawmachu is a sour soup that reminds me of Filipino sinigang. This dish was my favorite. I don’t think you can go wrong with the menu. The wings were extra crispy and unique from other fried wings I’ve tried. I ordered there but in the future I’d order ahead to avoid the waits. But I wanted to ask about the menu and get recommendations. Most people do pickup orders but there are a few seats outside at their outdoor patio.

  • “I recently tried Cambodian Street Food, and it was absolutely fantastic! The chicken and beef dishes were incredibly flavorful and cooked to perfection. I highly recommend them to anyone craving authentic Cambodian flavors. Can’t wait to order again!” Hella Fire!

  • Ngl- probably the best Khmer food I've had in a while? I ordered the lemongrass soup before visiting The Black Dahlia, and it made me realize how blessed I was to be alive! What a diamond in rough you'd never expect it?! Even after a month I'm still salivating over how hearty it was to have some traditional Southeast Asian Soul Food. These people know what they're doing! Go get some! "Ack Khun Tron ah-own. Ma hope chayung main tayn. Ka yum net chee Moto BMW pee mun."

  • First time visiting this spot and just trying Cambodian food in general. The food was delicious! The portions are nice and the trays were full with the prices reasonable. Service was fast, but there's a bit of a wait as the food is cooked fresh. There's free street parking but it's limited in a sketchy area, but the people here are good vibes. We had the Steak & Prahok Sauce w/rice, Prahok Ka-thiss w/veggies and rice, along with the chicken and beef sticks. The sauces were delicious, but it is mildly pungent with a bit of a kick to it as that is common in traditional South East Asian dishes.

  • Great food, good portions, takeout only with a place to sit and eat on the side. Highly recommend bringing cash but you can do card for a fee. Chicken ka kreung is good, chicken skewers were very tender - cost around $25 for the plate and 3x skewers. Beef sold out early unfortunately!

  • Food was really good, however it is in a very sketchy neighborhood. They keep the door lock and you order from a window, outside eating area was dirty and very unsanitary. So it is best to get it to go. Ice coffee was great as well.

  • I find myself coming here more and more. Their garlic noodles are a must try! I know garlic noodles are very basic, but these are done very well. Clearly the chef has made this dish more than we could imagine. Be careful though, they sell out usually by the end of the night, so don't wait!
